Lately the impatience has been real. I want things when I want them and I want them to happen NOW!

Can you relate? I can’t tell you how many times I’ve fallen into the trap of dreaming big, looking at where I am now and where I want to go, all the steps it will take to get there and think to myself… Can I just skip to the last step? Or feeling unsatisfied during the journey because I’m fixated on the future thing needing to happen for me to be content and happy.

It just so happens that impatience is a shadow in my Gene Keys hologenetic profile as my sphere of radiance which means that my perception of patience has a lot to do with the expression of my health and wellbeing. So it’s no wonder that impatience pops up in my life often, as it is my challenge and gift in this lifetime to transform it in myself and then with others.

So how do you deal with impatience? Read on to find out.

The core story at the center of impatience is the belief that things are not as they should be. And that story implies a mistrust of life. So the medicine for impatience then is trust.

Let’s play the what-if game.

What if you were exactly where you were supposed to be, and there was something you were meant to learn and discover at this very moment? What if the Universe is working behind the scenes to bring your manifestations to life and all you have to do is open your eyes to the moment, pay attention, take it in, and keep walking the path?

How would you act if you knew that everything was on time, and as it should be in this present moment?

Answer the question now, if you so choose. Write it out, or speak it aloud to yourself. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to act that way now and watch how your mood shifts.

I

When you reassure yourself like this It’s like your brain says ‘Oh! We don’t have to worry about this anymore? Okay, cool. Thanks for letting me know.’ and you immediately relax. The ego mind is just reacting to You. It is attempting to serve you by reminding you you don’t have what you want yet and perhaps “bullying” you by telling you how bad you’ve got it right now to scare you into working harder to get out.

Unfortunately that approach just leads to more stress and dissatisfaction. But rather than beat yourself up for “doing it wrong” or because you feel impatient, what if instead you could see beyond how your mind is trying to help you and get to the why.

The ego isn’t bad for being impatient. It truly wants to help you. Once you see that, you can drop the judgment and ask this part of you why it’s being impatient. Try talking to it as if it was another person in front of you. And meet it with loving compassion. I see you for trying to help me be consistent so I can have what I want. I see you for trying to remind me of where I want to go so I don’t forget that I’m capable of more. Thank you.

From this state of Loving Awareness, try this mantra: Whatever is alive and present in me at this moment, I accept without judgment.

Now, you are meeting impatience with patience. And that is the secret sauce to transforming this shadow into a gift.

Whenever I get impatient, I start with that. And if I feel myself judging myself for feeling impatient in the first place I remind myself that only the ego judges the ego. And as Einstein says ‘You can’t solve a problem from the same mind that created it’.

Above the ego is another part of me that is whole and perfect and witnesses it all through a lens of Loving Awareness. I take breath, channel that part of me, say the mantra to myself, and let whatever will happen next unfold.

With the latest subject I’ve been impatient about (that I won’t reveal to you just yet 😉 ), this simple strategy has brought me peace of mind to enjoy each moment as it is. I can witness myself as I’m experiencing joy, almost like I’m watching someone else experience it. And when I notice it, I capture it in my mind's eye and I feel proud that in that moment I chose to live in the now rather than worry about something that hasn’t happened yet.

With each snapshot, I build my joy portfolio and remind the ego mind that there is fun to be had along the way, no matter what goal has been reached or not reached and it settles me.

You may not have everything you want yet but you can enjoy the blessings of the here and now in full trust of the Universe and yourself utilizing the gift of patience.

Loving Awareness is always available to you. And I can show you how to tap into it, if that is what you seek. Email or DM me and let’s transform impatience to patience, together.
